Dr. Marc Nickens, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic / Owner
Dr. Marc Nickens was born and raised in Melbourne, FL. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Central Florida he went on to earn his doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Fueled by his passion for helping others, Dr. Marc is committed to restoring our community back to health.
From Dr. Marc:
For as long as I can remember someone in my family has always been sick! I have watched as my family slowly suffered from migraines, dementia, back pain, diabetes, digestive disease, cancer, the list goes on. What bothered me was that the only options my family was given for their health were drugs and surgery. As I grew older it struck me that something was wrong. I realized that my family’s story wasn’t special. Everyone I knew had a loved one struggling with their health in some way!
This prompted me to ask some tough questions about health and how the body works. While exploring options in healthcare, the goal of chiropractic stood out from the rest: to correct the cause of your health problems rather than just treat and cover up the symptoms.
Over the years, my experiences have led me to firmly believe that all people are designed for health and abundance in life. When you find and correct the cause, your body can heal just the way God intended. I am truly blessed that I get to help people just like you every day and I cannot wait to be a part of your family’s health journey.
Dr. Lauren Nickens, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic / Owner
Dr. Lauren Nickens graduated with a bachelors degree in Health Science from the University of Central Florida and continued on to earn her doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic. Upon graduating from Palmer, she worked in Jacksonville, Celebration, and Naples, FL; receiving advanced training in spinal correction, prenatal care, nutrition, exercise and toxicity from three of the largest health clinics in the country.
From Dr. Lauren:
I have been blessed in life that I am able to help people of all ages, from mere minutes old to 102 years of age! I truly understand the meaning of lifelong health and I’m deeply committed to helping every person I meet achieve it.
My passion is in serving expecting moms and ensuring that their bodies are in proper alignment for delivery. Being able to help moms-to-be throughout their entire pregnancy and then to be able to adjust their babies is one of my greatest joys! I often tell people that my favorite patient is a newborn because my heart lies in serving God’s people from birth all the way into adulthood and to see the health of their family change for generations to come!
This being the first time in two centuries the current generation of children in America may have a shorter life expectancy than their parents, my husband and I have made it our mission to change the way our community views and manages their health, both physically and mentally across all generations.
Anna Schimpf – Patient Care Coordinator
From Anna:
I first started at Northgate Family Chiropractic as a patient. I came to the office just to get my spine checked. I found out that I’ve had scoliosis since I was little! It was pretty scary learning how scoliosis affects your health and knowing that sometimes the prognosis is surgery – but as I started getting adjusted and correcting my spine, my scoliosis reversed! Now I get regular adjustments and take care of my spine to make sure it is managed! I felt so empowered to take charge of my health and have the choice to do that! I loved coming in to get adjusted so much that I decided to apply for a position as a Chiropractic Assistant.
I have loved learning about the human body and health. My favorite part about this job is empowering people to learn about health and how to take charge of it! I believe that holistic living is essential! It is so fun to get to work in an environment that focuses on the whole body, mind, and soul!
I am a local to Colorado. And live with my husband, Andrew, and our puppies – Beau and Elsie. We love hiking, adventuring, and having fun. I especially love naps in the sun and learning about holistic health My favorite things are sunshine, good music, time with family, animals, laughter, and fun!
Alison Prouty – Office Manager
From Alison:
The first time I walked into Northgate Family Chiropractic I came in for a job interview with a resume and a migraine. I had no idea chiropractic care could help with my debilitating migraines that I had suffered from for more than 20 years. God had a plan for me, and I got the job! I started getting regular adjustments and correcting my spine. For the first time in my life I was no longer having weekly migraines and I was able to stop using all my many medications!
What I had assumed would be lifelong suffering I have been freed from entirely. That alone has been an unbelievable blessing, but the story does not end there! Through the 5 Essentials I have found a new passion for living a holistic lifestyle, taking control of my own personal health, and building a deeper relationship with Jesus.
I love getting to help people on their own health journeys. There is nothing better than watching as they too experience the freedom that I have found. And I look forward to getting to do that with you and your family!
